As a Geospatial Technician in support of Military Operations, Our mission is to be able to produce timely and accurate mapping of an area, sometimes within 30 minutes of not even knowing where the operations will be. One of the issues we face is MGRS ladder labelling. The tasks are dynamic and do not conform to a particular series or scale of mapping.
The troops on the ground face many challenges, one of which is interpereting a map correctly and quickly. One of these tasks include deriving grids in a very timely manner. To be better able to support this the troops have asked to halo MGRS Ladder Labelling.
What I would like to be able to halo the MGRS Ladder Labelling text. In the current format the text can be hard to read when there is certain content within the dataframe. The current process of having to convert grid to graphics, up-grouping and manually changing it is both time consuming and open to errors which could lead to major issues.
A simple Drop-down/Radial button selection along with a colour choice box within the MGRS Ladder Label Section of the MGRS Grid would be an excellent addition to ArcMap.
