New version of "Locate Features Along Routes"

    Points

  • The existing "Locate Features Along Routes" tool in the Linear Referencing Toolbox in ArcToolbox could benefit from the ability to add an extra Field in the results table, containing the sequence for located features on a specific route. For example the first found feature on a specific route will be assigned the number 1, the second feature on the same route will be assigned number 2 and so on, following the increasing measures. When the search continues on the second route, the sequence restarts. Today you get the actual measure, which is great and you can offcource sort the table on both the routeidentifier field and the measure field via Advanced Sorting, but the sequence is lost as soon as you use the data in other applications.

that would be great if Station and offset could be utilized for nearby features within a buffer distance.  Outcome would provide distance down line (station) and offset from line (L/R)
